STOROPACK CONTINUES THE TRADITION, SUPPORTING FOUR ORGANIZATIONS NEAR ITS LOCATIONS
Mainleus, Germany, and Sydney, Australia, are just two of the Storopack locations that had the honorable task of handing over a donation to a charitable organization of their choice as part of this year’s annual Christmas donation initiative. In Mainleus, Storopack Plant Manager Gerald Oppelt presented a check for €12,500 to the Geschwister-Gummi-Stiftung foundation in Kulmbach this Advent season. In Australia, the donation went to Ronald McDonald House Charities in Thornleigh, a suburb of Sydney.
It didn’t take long to find a recipient for this year’s Christmas donation in Mainleus. In recent years, the location’s employees have participated in the Christmas gift donation initiatives for the children of the Geschwister-Gummi-Stiftung foundation. Established in 1862, the children’s home is dedicated to providing children and teens who have suffered from neglect and trauma with various forms of support as well as protection and security. Here they find a safe haven and a cozy home for a happy childhood and a bright future.
The Geschwister-Gummi-Stiftung staff who personally accepted the donation from Gerald Oppelt expressed their gratitude for the support, in compliance with the 2G plus rule. In Thornleigh, Linda Hagan, Marketing & Business Manager at Storopack Australia, presented the donation check to the Ronald McDonald House Charities as a dollar matching partner for its “Give A Night” appeal. The initiative has collected AU$551,002 so far, which corresponds to 3,443 nights of support for sick and injured kids and their families. The two other donations this year went to Diakonie-Sozialstation in Metzingen, Germany, and the SickKids Foundation in Toronto, Canada. Every year, Storopack supports four organizations that are socially involved in the community and located in close proximity to the more than 60 Storopack locations worldwide.
